The Brittany Hyatt Foundation

About: In June 2014, the team at Valdez Creek Mining suffered a great loss. Brittany Hyatt passed away in a car accident on her way to begin the 2014 mining season. Her death hit everyone in the camp in a different way, but left a noticible gap that could not be filled. Anyone who crossed paths with Hyatt instantly connected with her never failing positive attitude and amicable personality. When the days brought about insufferable snow, thick mud, and spirits were low, Hyatt was there with a smile on her face.

The Brittany Hyatt Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to extending Brittany Hyatt's extraordinary ability to put others needs before her own. The foundation is committed to helping those who resonate with Hyatt's spirit.

Causes: Kimberlyn Watson, a 5 year old from Trapper Creek, AK was born with microtia. She has undergone over 35 surgeries in her short life. Brittany Hyatt came to know Kimberlyn when she frequented the Trapper Creek Diner, donating any spare money she had to help her raise money for the ability to have ears. Brittany had mentioned that if she ever had a million dollars she would give every penny to make sure that Kimberlyn got her wish.

The first mission of the Brittany Hyatt Foundation will make that dream come true for Kimberlyn and Hyatt.
